It’s hard to believe that our baby boy will be here in less than 4 weeks! We’re so excited to meet him. We’re busy making sure everything is ready for him and I’m busy trying to stay cool and comfortable. I’ve been sticking to light fabrics as best as I can. Here’s a look I out together recently. It’s pretty casual but I can’t wait to dress these pants up with a cute pair of heels or wear them with a crop top. Wearing black and white really allows you to play with different colors in your accessories. I chose to pair this look with metallic accessories but the next time, I’ll probably pair these paints with a little more color.

This spring, I’m having a lot more fun with fashion. I’m pushing myself to wear different color combinations and I love it. My number one rule with fashion is: have fun! Fashion is supposed to be about expression. Whatever you decide to wear for the day, it should express how you feel. Never feel compelled to wear something to please someone else. Never dress a certain way because you’re afraid of what others might think. At the end of the day, you need to be happy with yourself. If you don’t fit into a box or a certain mold, own it. Stand out. When God created you, He threw away the mold. Be proud that there’s no one else like you.
This particular day, I was feeling bold and flirty. This off the shoulder ruffled dress helped me bring out the flirty side. I paired it with my metallic loafers to bring an unexpected element to this look and I loved the result.

I’m looking forward to this three day weekend. We made all of these plans and then we scrapped them. Why? Because we didn’t want to have a planned weekend. We really just wanted to rest and go with the flow. I really believe that amazing things can happen to us when we let go. When we realize we don’t always have to have control, we open ourselves up to new possibilities, relationships, and experiences. So, I have no idea what we’re doing this weekend but I’m looking forward to it!
To all of the brave men and women who lost their lives fighting for the United States, I thank you for your sacrifice. I’m praying that God’s peace and love surrounds your family.
It’s official, spring is finally here! Spring represents a new beginning. The flowers are blooming, daylight lasts longer, and the temperatures are rising. It’s truly a beautiful time of year and it’s a perfect time to reflect the season in your wardrobe! Go ahead, experiment with bright colors. Want to wear bright print? Do it! If you’re not used to wearing bright colors or prints, start small. For example, try pairing a bright colored shirt with denim pants. Another option to brighten up your wardrobe is to wear pastel colors. This time of year, there are plenty of pastel colored dresses in stores, try one on! Fashion isn’t about looking perfect. Fashion is all about having fun with your look.
I wore this pink pastel dress to bring in the new season. To mix up my look, I paired this dress with a grey hat and black boots.
So it’s been a busy week for me. I recently posted that we’re having a baby boy on my Instagram and we’ve been busy getting his nursery together! Now more than ever, I’ve been dressing in layers especially when we’re out running errands. It’s been pretty cold in North Carolina but I’m so ready for spring. Wearing this shirt was the perfect solution for me. It’s lightweight so I won’t get overheated plus the bright color makes me feel like spring is here! Wearing bright colors during the winter is all about balance. I love pairing this bright shirt with pants that are a neutral color, like these jeans.

I’m going to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista.com this summer. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to write articles and share my perspective on fashion. I’ve always enjoyed writing about fashion. Whether I’m giving fashion advice or just sharing what inspired my outfit, it’s always been something I am passionate about. Maybe someone out there has a passion but is feeling discouraged. Maybe you feel like your dream isn’t going to come true. Well, if you would’ve told me a year ago that I would be writing on a platform such as CollegeFashionista.com I wouldn’t have believed you. Hard work pays off. Don’t give up! Stay persistent and continually perfect your craft. Your time is coming.
My first post will be later this month and I will keep you posted. I photographed my bio pictures today. Here are the details on what I wore:

I’ve got a “three piece rule”that I’ve been following for a while. It’s basically a rule that states you need to add a third article of clothing to your outfit to make it more complex. That third piece can be a blazer, vest or one of my favorites: a sleeveless jacket. The third piece should make tie your outfit together. I got this sleeveless jacket on sale for just $5.50 at Tj Maxx. You can’t beat that!
Sleeveless Jacket: Tj Maxx
Hat: Old Navy
Boots: Old Navy
This is one of my favorite skirts to wear. It’s so playful and white goes with just about anything. Its been said not to wear white after Labor Day but if you’re like me, you know it’s okay to bend the rules from time to time. Especially when it comes to fashion. I love mixing blue and black together and this white skirt balances the colors out so well.
When I first saw this scarf, I wasn’t sure how I wanted to style it but I knew I had to have it. Belting a scarf is an easy way to personalize it. I can’t wait to wear this scarf again!
