These past six months have been the most interesting and challenging fun I’ve ever had! Being a mother brings feelings of love, worry, fatigue, and excitement. I’ve learned a few lessons along the way:
1. Surround Yourself with Positive People.
The people we surround ourselves with, truly impacts our internal energy. I choose to surround myself with people who encourage, lift me up, and offer me good advice. As a new mom(and really as a person) I don’t need negative energy around me.
2. Give Yourself Grace
I’ve gotten better at extending grace to other people but you know what I haven’t really done? Extended it to myself. There’s no step by step guide to motherhood. Yes, there’s knowledge and doctors that help you along the way but there’s no instruction manual. I’ve had to extend grace to myself so many times.
3. Remember You are a Person Outside of Being a Mom.
You still need to developed a person outside of being a mother. I’ve challenged myself to new skills and improve skills to better myself as a person. Why? Because being a mother is part of who I am. It’s a huge part but still a part of me. It important to still evolve as a person.
Here’s a photo of me and our baby boy.
I hope you all are doing well. This past weekend I went to a wedding that my husband was in. It’s a great thing when you witness family and friends gathering to celebrate something positive. I had to wonder, how many people (including myself) make it a habit to celebrate the “smaller” events with loved ones? Don’t get me wrong. Of course a wedding is an occasion that should be celebrated but have you celebrated the “smaller” events recently? If you just rocked a test after studying really hard, celebrate. Maybe you’ve been trying to make a habit of remaining positive in the midst of adversity, celebrate that. When you do celebrate, make sure your family and friends are there to bask in your victory. Here’s to all of us celebrating the “small” stuff.

Get this down in your spirit: you are loved. It doesn’t matter what you mistakes you’ve made, God has a never ending love for you. God loves you right where you are. He loves the real you and there is nothing you can do about it! As children of the Most High, we have direct access to a God who pursues us with His love even when we make mistakes. As you go about your week, rest in the fact that His faithful love is pursuing you.
I hope you all are having a fantastic week so far! Is it just me or is the month of October just flying by? October tends to be a busy month for me. Between work and my wedding anniversary, we have a number number of birthdays and family celebrations. So whenever I get a chance to relax with my husband, I try to take advantage of it. After church we had a “day date”. Here’s what I wore:
Hat: Old Navy
Loafers: Old Navy
Happy Valentine’s Day! I’ve always loved this holiday. Whether you are single or in a relationship, it’s a day that is dedicated to celebrating love. I do believe that we should always take the time to celebrate love, but today feel free to remind someone you love them by writing them a note or simply spending quality time with them. Feel free to show yourself some love too. After all, you deserve it.

Below is probably one of my favorite quotes from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He illustrated love when people expected him to hate. He remained steadfast when it was probably easier to give up. We have the power to keep his dream alive by doing the same things. Stay hopeful when you want to accomplish a goal. Remain steadfast when it’s easier to give up. Remember it’s okay to start small but you at least have to start!
We have to remember to spread love instead of hate. In this time, it’s hard to do that with everything going on in the world but remember, change can start with you. Sometimes it’s easy to feel small and think your efforts won’t make a difference but somebody has to make a change right? Well why can’t that person be you? I’m right there with you.
Hello! I hope you all had a great holiday. Yesterday we went to my mom’s house for dinner, games and movies and it was a lot of fun. I was asked to cook the Mac and cheese and it was a hit! Afterwards, we went to the outlet mall here to get some exercise 😊. Here’s what I wore:
Sweater: Forever 21
White Collared Shirt: NY & Co

I’ve always loved Valentine’s Day! As Valentine’s Day approaches and plans are being made, let’s take a look at some possible outfit ideas for men.
The Fancy Date: Are you going to an upscale restaurant or maybe just want to impress your date? A nice suit is always a nice option.
The Sporty Date: Mixing it up for Valentine’s Date is a great idea! Whether you are hiking or going for a bike ride, you definitely want to be comfortable but still dress to impress.
The Casual Date: Depending on the weather, shorts are still a nice option for Valentine’s Day. If you’re going to a concert or picnic during the daytime, you might want to consider more of a casual look.
