Inspire and be Inspired

Hello!

I hope you all have had a great weekend! On Sunday nights, I always like to prep myself for the week ahead. Sometimes, that can be a hard task though. Staying motivated and inspired can be a lot of work. I have a goal book (I’ve featured it on Snapchat before) that has photos and inspirational quotes that help to keep me inspired. As a creative person, I think it’s so important to be able to inspire yourself in order to inspire others.

I’m curious. How do you inspire yourself? Do you have a killer song you listen to? Or is it a sentimental photo you keep in your wallet. Comment below, I’d love to hear from you.

Different is Beautiful!!

Happy Wednesday!

Do you ever feel like everyone is busy being the same? You know, trying to fit in or look “normal”. When I was younger, I was so afraid of sticking out. I knew then that I was different and unique but didn’t want to be made fun of for the way I dressed. So I tried my best not to stick out. One day I realized that my uniqueness was a gift! It was a talent of mine. I think we all have gifts and talents but sometimes we are so busy comparing ourselves to our friends or what we see on tv that we lose what makes us so unique. So I’m taking to you. Whoever you are, know that being different is okay. Know that being “quirky” or “weird” is a good thing. So the next time someone calls you different, take it as a compliment and hold your head up high.

You Are Here

I’ve always been the type of person who looks ahead to the next thing. I’ve always obsessed about what I needed to do for tomorrow’s meeting or next week’s presentation. I don’t think it’s a bad think to be prepared or to have goals for yourself but I’ve found that when I obsess about the future I’m missing out on what’s happening now. When I obsess about the future, I’m not really present. I’m missing out on spending time with my loved ones or just alone time with myself. When I should feel peaceful, I feel stressed and anxious about the future.

We don’t have full control in life. Yes, we can plan and be prepared but I’ve found sometimes what I was stressing about didn’t even happen or it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was. I’ve learned to cherish where I am right now. Not where I want to be next year or what all I need to get done for Monday but to actually be present and appreciate of my current circumstances. It doesn’t mean that I won’t reach a goal that I’ve set for myself next month or year. It just means that I’m choosing to “be in the now”. When I remember that where I am isn’t my final destination but just a resting place on my journey it really makes me less anxious.
