What’s living boldly mean? I used to think it was impossible to live boldly. Especially when our world continuously sends messages on how we should live, dress, act, and talk. Then I remembered, we’re not of this world. You see, God calls us to be in this world but not of it. What does that mean? It means that we’re not supposed to fit in. It means that we’re different. Fitting in won’t work because we were created to stand out. Living boldly to me means aligning all of my actions with who God created me to be.

I just got back from attending a Bachelorette party in Miami and had an awesome time. I had forgotten how much I miss living in an environment that is so rich with culture. In Miami, the culture is in the food, music, and the way people dress, and talk. I started to realize how inspired I felt and wondered when was the last time I felt that inspired. I really missed having that inspiration. Before I started to go down that negative path of thinking, I started to think about the resources I have now that could inspire me. There are so many times we are waiting for a place or someone to inspire us but we have to realize that instead of waiting, we have the power to inspire ourselves. Don’t get me wrong, I think drawing inspiration from people and places is very important but there are so many other things we can be inspired by. It could be the sunset, sunrise, your loved ones or yourself. Together, lets make a habit of taking control over what inspires us. Feel free to tell me something’s that inspire you in the comments.

I hope you are having a great weekend! This morning I went to church and the message was about finding your vision for 2017. I’ve been thinking about that all day to be honest with you. I have goals I want to accomplish for this year but I never stopped to think about my vision for this year. I think that’s why resolutions don’t always stick. We tend to think of a resolution as a one time occurrence or a temporary fix instead of a long-term objective that can increase the value of our lives. It’s time to start challenging ourselves and thinking about the vision for our lives and how 2017 can get us closer to that vision. I’m taking some time to meditate on what my vision is for my life and I challenge you to do the same!
P.S. Don’t forget at the end of the month, I’ll be posting about a giveaway! So stay tuned on my socials!
I recently stepped out in a denim jumpsuit that I purchased from Forever 21 last year. One thing I love about jumpsuits: they can usually be worn year-round. For example, if you have a romper you can transition that piece into the the fall and winter by pairing tights underneath it. In the fall, I usually wear this jumpsuit with a vest to make it a little more complex. During the summer it’s too hot for layers so I just wore it by itself. The key to making this outfit more complex is accessorizing. I didn’t want to take away from the focal point of this outfit (the jumpsuit) so I opted for a subtle necklace and some sassy shades.

I hope you all had a great time celebrating the Fourth of July. Thank you to all who have served our country! I was on vacation in Hilton Head Islad, South Carolina (if you follow me on Snapchat you already know that). Vacation is exactly what the doctor ordered.
On the last night we were there, I wore black and brown. It’s always bothered me when people say black and brown don’t match. They do! They’re both neutral colors so they can go with any color and each other.
This was a pretty big moment for me. You all know that I had to have emergency surgery last fall and because of it, I have a long scar from the top of my rib cage that goes under my belly button. I have a scar on my back as well but I was really nervous about showing this one! I finally decided that I didn’t care. Scars are kind of like battle wounds if you think about it. I survived something pretty incredible and there’s no shame in being a survivor.
Here’s what’s wore:
I hope you all are having a wonderful Sunday! I can’t believe it’s May already. Doesn’t it feel like time is going by so quickly? It’s hard to believe that I’ll be graduating soon, but that’s a post for another time! May calls for beautiful flowers and some rain as well and it can be difficult to dress for the weather that the month brings. Today for example, it’s pretty humid and has been rainy all day. Whenever it rains, especially during the spring or summer, I like to wear bright colors or prints. Here’s what I wore:
Tunic- Allen B. for Target
Watch: Anne Klein

Mixing prints can be a very fun way to personalize your outfit. There are different ways and variations to do this. If you’re new to the trend, start small. If you feel daring and advanced with this trend, go for it!
Sometimes, people look at me in a weird way when I’m wearing an outfit that has mixed prints. I know what they are thinking: “that girl obviously doesn’t know how to match her clothes.” The truth is, I know how but I don’t really care what others have to say about my style. You should be the same way with your personalized style. If it looks good on you and you feel like a rockstar wearing it, then don’t think twice about wha others are thinking! Here’s an example of how I mixed prints:
Jacket: Old Navy
High Waisted Jeans: Forever21

Yesterday I was invited to attend a Bridal Shower. I love celebrating the accomplishments of my friends. I was able to catch up with some friends I hadn’t seen in a while and I realized how awesome it was to hear goals and accomplishments being met. I also realized that I am blessed with great friends. Growing up, we moved around a lot and because of that I didn’t have a lot of long lasting friendships. It’s been easy for me to keep people at a distance simply because that’s what I’ve been used to. As a result of that, I never developed long lasting friends until college. We may not talk to each other or see each other regularly but I know that there’s a lot of substance and value in the friendships that I have with them.
Unfortunately, we were talking so much that we forgot to take pictures with one another. I did take a few pictures of my outfit before I left. I love this vest; it keeps me warm and makes a bold statement. It’s a really good example of how you can make a personal statement with layers. Here’s what I wore:
Boots: Old Navy
Mixing stripes is probably one of my favorite prints to mix and match. For this look I stuck with black, brown, grey and blue. The yellow in this shirt adds a little something extra to the look but doesn’t overwhelm it. Layering was key with this look. I wanted to add some definition to my waist so I added the black belt to pull everything together.
Hat: Old Navy
Boots: Shoe Dazzle
Now that the snow and ice are melting, we decided to get out and go to one of the local breweries. There was still a chill in the air so the first sweater I reached for was this turtleneck by Banana Republic. This turtleneck makes me feel like I’m wrapped in a blanket so it was perfect. Plus these wedged booties were perfect for walking in the snow.
