In my last post, I discussed how we didn’t receive a lot of winter weather this year. Well over the weekend the Carolinas received a touch of winter weather. To be honest, we received about an inch of snow that melted before noon but it gave me an excuse to wear one of my favorite turtlenecks. In my opinion turtleneck is never go out of style. They are timeless and classic. Throwback photos of Audrey Hepburn prove that.

I love the holidays. I always have and always will. It’s great to be with family and friends while we celebrate the true reason for the season: the birth of our Savior. The holiday season has a special way of bringing us together with our loved ones. As exciting as that can be, it can also be frustrating. Different events call for different outfits which can sometimes present challenges in the wardrobe department. I’ve been collecting requests from social media of some looks that you all wanted to see. This was a lot of fun to put together and I look forward to doing many more lookbooks in the future.
Office Holiday Party
For the office party, it depends on the type of environment you work in. This look is for the girl who wants to let her creative flare be seen but maintain her professional stance. To tone down this look, you can always switch out the vest for a black structured blazer.
Date Night/Girls Night Out
Whether you are heading out with the girls or your boo date night can be fun to dress up for. I like opting for a suit rather than a dress to mix up my night look. It’s a little daring (even for me) but I think you need to step outside of your comfort zone every now and then. There’s nothing wrong with showing off your curves or scars that you may have. After all, they’re what make you unique.
Suit: New York and Company
Halter Top: Victoria Secret
I love the idea of wearing sequins during the day! One of my favorite ways to dress down a pair of sequinned leggings is to pair them with a sweatshirt. I like these leggings because they allow me to give my jeans a rest. If you have to run out to finish off your Christmas shopping list or go to a brunch with your girls, this is the perfect look.
Collard Shirt: Forever21
Boots: Old Navy
Christmas Day/Ugly Christmas Sweater Party
I can get pretty festive so I love the idea of letting my Christmas spirit show! I opted for jeans because there’s a good chance I’ll be rolling on the floor with my sister’s dog. If you’re Christmas dinners happen to be more formal, don’t be scared to add a high-waisted skirt with your Christmas sweater.I have no shame in throwing on a Christmas sweater for Christmas dinner or an ugly Christmas sweater party. The holidays are all about having fun. Feel free to dress as festive as you feel!
New Year’s Eve
A sequined dress is perfect for New Year’s Eve. I don’t think it’s cliche’ at all. In fact, I think it’s the perfect way to welcome the new year. These over-the-knee boots serve a dual purpose by making a statement and keeping your legs warm. I love the contrast of gold and silver. Don’t be afraid to have fun with contrast in your wardrobe. It doesn’t have to be complicated. Think about simple colors such as white and black, or red and pink. Have fun with it and don’t forget to add your own personal touch!

I hope this post finds you well. I’m so excited for fall. The cool breeze is finally here and I can’t wait to indulge in pumpkin patches, cider and scarves. This season isn’t just a symbol for these things though. To me, when the seasons change it also is a symbol for new beginnings. The new season signifies something new on the horizon. Yes, I know that fall comes every year but it’s a new year. Fall 2016 has never been here before. Which means you have a fresh start. I don’t like to wait for New Years Eve to make new goals. I like to revisit the goals I set for myself often and this is the perfect time to do that.
So whoever you are and whatever you’re going through, let this season be a fresh start for you. Maybe it’s a new job, relationship or a skill you’re going to diligently learn. I wish you good luck and I know that you’re going to “knock it out of the park.”

Am I the only one who feels like the weekends go by too quickly? It can be hard enjoying the weekend when you know you have busy week ahead of you. I usually find that when I take care of all my errands Saturday morning, it allows me to have time to actually enjoy my weekend. That’s exactly what I did yesterday. I took care of all of my errands: studying, writing papers, cleaning, and the dreaded post office.
While I was out, I noticed how its spring but yet 50 degrees. I’ve already completed a spring cleaning of my wardrobe but I kept a couple of sweaters in my closet just in case. I found this jacket on sale at Target. It gives me the perfect pop of color for spring while still keeping me warm. This sweater dress and jacket are the perfect balance for when you want to show a little skin but dress appropriately for the weather. Here’s what I wore in the chilly, not so spring-like weather:
Dress: Forever 21
Jacket: Who What Wear for Target
Yes, I know Easter was yesterday but I wasn’t able to blog. I spent my day with my husband. We went to church and then dinner. It was a low-key Easter for us but it’s one that I needed. Easter is a great day to be reminded of hope. It’s a day that reminds me no matter what I’m facing, there’s always the presence of victory in the near future. Whatever you’re facing today, know that you are loved and victory is in your near future! I hope you enjoyed Easter with people you love.
I love this midi-skirt I found. The color adds just enough pop to any outfit. Here’s what I wore:
Skirt: New York & Company
Shirt: Forever 21
P.S.- My face is still swollen from getting braces.

I hope you all enjoyed the first day of spring over this past weekend. We opted for a quick getaway. The weather has been so nice so we decided to explore the downtown area of Greenville. It was relaxing walking around and taking everything into perspective. Recently, I’ve been focusing on things in the future. There’s nothing wrong with making goals for yourself and focusing on the future but sometimes by focusing solely on what you want to happen “x” amount of months from now, you miss out on what’s going on right now in your life. I think we are all guilty of it. I certainly am. Where you are right now, is exactly where you are meant to be. It may not be where you want to be but enjoy the present. Maybe you’re supposed to learn a lesson or something new about yourself but enjoy where you are. That idea really resonated with me this weekend. Maybe it’s something you need to consider too. Just food for thought.

Spring is almost here! With the weather warming up just a bit and the sun out, I decided to wear shorts today. I’ve shared that one of the reasons I used to get made fun of was due to my legs. I was tall and lanky growing up, which meant that I looked different. I used to hate wearing shorts, skirts and dresses. Now, I’ve learned to embrace my lanky legs whenever I can. They’re just one of the factors that make me unique. Whatever makes you unique, embrace it!
P.S.- I know these kicks are a little spotted on the tip but I still love them!
