What’s living boldly mean? I used to think it was impossible to live boldly. Especially when our world continuously sends messages on how we should live, dress, act, and talk. Then I remembered, we’re not of this world. You see, God calls us to be in this world but not of it. What does that mean? It means that we’re not supposed to fit in. It means that we’re different. Fitting in won’t work because we were created to stand out. Living boldly to me means aligning all of my actions with who God created me to be.

These past six months have been the most interesting and challenging fun I’ve ever had! Being a mother brings feelings of love, worry, fatigue, and excitement. I’ve learned a few lessons along the way:
1. Surround Yourself with Positive People.
The people we surround ourselves with, truly impacts our internal energy. I choose to surround myself with people who encourage, lift me up, and offer me good advice. As a new mom(and really as a person) I don’t need negative energy around me.
2. Give Yourself Grace
I’ve gotten better at extending grace to other people but you know what I haven’t really done? Extended it to myself. There’s no step by step guide to motherhood. Yes, there’s knowledge and doctors that help you along the way but there’s no instruction manual. I’ve had to extend grace to myself so many times.
3. Remember You are a Person Outside of Being a Mom.
You still need to developed a person outside of being a mother. I’ve challenged myself to new skills and improve skills to better myself as a person. Why? Because being a mother is part of who I am. It’s a huge part but still a part of me. It important to still evolve as a person.
Here’s a photo of me and our baby boy.
For the past weekends, I’ve been doing several pop-up shops for Queen Styles Boutique. I love doing pop-up shops. Being that I sell clothes online, I like whenever I can meet customers face-to-face. I can see their reactions to the fabrics and interact with them. It’s an amazing feeling. I had the opportunity to do a pop-up shop yesterday and today. I thought about it and chose to only do an event yesterday. I struggled with that decision if I’m being honest with you. I wanted to work but I knew I was tired. I didn’t want to start a new week off drained and tired. I knew I needed to recharge my batteries. So, I decided to listen to that voice. We went to church, picked out our Christmas tree, and watched Hallmark movies all day…I enjoyed every minute of it. And you know what? I feel refreshed, and ready to take on another week. Sometimes, the decision is tough. I think we’ve trained ourselves that if we’re not working or busy, we must be lazy. There’s a happy medium and your body will tell you, just listen.
