We had our babymoon! It gave us an opportunity to vacation before our baby boy gets here. For our babymoon, we went to Charleston, SC. We always have a good time in Charleston; it has a lot of charm. We didn’t really plan the activities for this trip like we normally do. I have to admit, I’m a planner so it was hard to just go with the flow but it was great seeing where our vacation took us. We ended up eating at restaurants we would’ve never gone to and exploring the beach like we never would’ve if we had planned every detail. Isn’t it funny how we try to have so much control over certain things in life when giving up control is really what’s best? There’s nothing wrong with being a planner. When God made me, He knew exactly what He was doing. Planning allows me to be efficient, productive, and effect. It’s a great quality to have; however, sometimes when we give up control we’ll open the door for new experiences to happen to us. Here are a few photos from our babymoon:
My bathing suit is from Target. It was so comfortable!
This off the shoulder dress is from http://www.queenstylesboutique.com. I love how this color pops.

I just got back from attending a Bachelorette party in Miami and had an awesome time. I had forgotten how much I miss living in an environment that is so rich with culture. In Miami, the culture is in the food, music, and the way people dress, and talk. I started to realize how inspired I felt and wondered when was the last time I felt that inspired. I really missed having that inspiration. Before I started to go down that negative path of thinking, I started to think about the resources I have now that could inspire me. There are so many times we are waiting for a place or someone to inspire us but we have to realize that instead of waiting, we have the power to inspire ourselves. Don’t get me wrong, I think drawing inspiration from people and places is very important but there are so many other things we can be inspired by. It could be the sunset, sunrise, your loved ones or yourself. Together, lets make a habit of taking control over what inspires us. Feel free to tell me something’s that inspire you in the comments.

This past Monday was my birthday. Thank you to all of you who wrote kind words on social media. This week, I also had to work in Wilmington, NC. I love Wilmington not just for its beaches but for the relaxed vibe that comes from the people. It’s truly amazing when no one is rushing to get to the next place. No one is riding your bumper in traffic trying to rush you. It’s nice to relax. I took a break from work Monday night to celebrate another year. Here’s what I wore downtown:
Silk Dress: Banana Republic
Boots: Old Navy

Wilmington had been a joy! We ate dinner on the water and listened to some live music. Here’s what I wore:
Shirt: Thrift find
I blogged about going to Victoria’s Secret’s Semi-Annual Sale a week ago. This shirt was one of my finds. I love their Pink line! It was perfect for downtown at the beach:)
Shirt: Victoria’s Secret
Sometimes it’s okay to break the “fashion rules.” Who comes up with this stuff anyway? As long as you look polished and feel great wearing it, who’s to say you can’t wear it? Mixing prints and patterns is so much fun. To me, the more prints the better!
I LOVE the beach. I grew up in New York and Florida so the beach was never too far away from us. Now in the Carolinas, it’s quite a drive so I enjoy it whenever we do go.
Jean Jacket: New York & Company
Hat: I visited my Mom and scored this hat out of her old clothes.
