I love the holidays. I always have and always will. It’s great to be with family and friends while we celebrate the true reason for the season: the birth of our Savior. The holiday season has a special way of bringing us together with our loved ones. As exciting as that can be, it can also be frustrating. Different events call for different outfits which can sometimes present challenges in the wardrobe department. I’ve been collecting requests from social media of some looks that you all wanted to see. This was a lot of fun to put together and I look forward to doing many more lookbooks in the future.
Office Holiday Party
For the office party, it depends on the type of environment you work in. This look is for the girl who wants to let her creative flare be seen but maintain her professional stance. To tone down this look, you can always switch out the vest for a black structured blazer.
Date Night/Girls Night Out
Whether you are heading out with the girls or your boo date night can be fun to dress up for. I like opting for a suit rather than a dress to mix up my night look. It’s a little daring (even for me) but I think you need to step outside of your comfort zone every now and then. There’s nothing wrong with showing off your curves or scars that you may have. After all, they’re what make you unique.
Suit: New York and Company
Halter Top: Victoria Secret
I love the idea of wearing sequins during the day! One of my favorite ways to dress down a pair of sequinned leggings is to pair them with a sweatshirt. I like these leggings because they allow me to give my jeans a rest. If you have to run out to finish off your Christmas shopping list or go to a brunch with your girls, this is the perfect look.
Collard Shirt: Forever21
Boots: Old Navy
Christmas Day/Ugly Christmas Sweater Party
I can get pretty festive so I love the idea of letting my Christmas spirit show! I opted for jeans because there’s a good chance I’ll be rolling on the floor with my sister’s dog. If you’re Christmas dinners happen to be more formal, don’t be scared to add a high-waisted skirt with your Christmas sweater.I have no shame in throwing on a Christmas sweater for Christmas dinner or an ugly Christmas sweater party. The holidays are all about having fun. Feel free to dress as festive as you feel!
New Year’s Eve
A sequined dress is perfect for New Year’s Eve. I don’t think it’s cliche’ at all. In fact, I think it’s the perfect way to welcome the new year. These over-the-knee boots serve a dual purpose by making a statement and keeping your legs warm. I love the contrast of gold and silver. Don’t be afraid to have fun with contrast in your wardrobe. It doesn’t have to be complicated. Think about simple colors such as white and black, or red and pink. Have fun with it and don’t forget to add your own personal touch!
