I think people often look at fashion as a superficial topic. As if only shallow people think about what they wear. People forget that first impressions actually do matter.
The truth is, people make up their mind about you within the first few seconds of meeting you. What you wear can say a lot about who you are and how you feel. That’s why it’s so important to focus on how you feel on the inside. It’s been said “if you feel good, you look good.”
Well how do you feel good? Diet? Exercise? Please know that I am not a therapist. These are just my tips on how I make sure I “feel good.”
1. You are What You Eat
I know you’ve heard that before but it’s true. My advice is to start small and work your way up. Start by increasing your intake of water then work on decreasing the junk food so it doesn’t all seem overwhelming. It’s supposed to be a lifestyle change.
I’ve posted about how much I enjoy Yoga. Not only because I have scoliosis (which limits my athletic ability) but it’s relaxing and tones my muscles as well. Again, start small so it doesn’t seem overwhelming. Start with just 20 minutes of exercise and increase the duration overtime. Sometimes I am out biking, taking a walk or doing yoga. Switching up my exercise helps so that I don’t get bored.
3. Think Positive
Now this may take time. It’s a habit that has to be formed. Literally every time I start thinking negatively, I have to snap out of it and think about whatever situation in a positive light. It’s so draining to be negative all of the time so why do it?
Here’s a quote from one of my favorite stylists Stacy London:
