I usually do a hugh cleaning of my wardrobe for Winter and Spring. I’m a hoarder with clothes so it’s hard. I think about the good times I had while wearing certain pieces and I wonder if I’ll ever be able to replace that item of clothing. It’s gotten a little easier but I still have to ask myself the following questions:
1. When was the last time you wore it?
This is extremely important because chances are, if I haven’t worn something in two months it probably collecting dust.
2. How often do you wear it?
There are certain items that aren’t fit for everyday wear like cocktail dresses. If that’s the case, I have to ask myself how often I wore it this last season. If it’s less than two times, I know I need to purge.
3. Is it torn, damaged or dull?
If the answer is yes to one of these questions, it’s time to give it away. I try to remember someone else at Goodwill or Salvation Army can use these items.
